There’s not much in Phil King and Dennis Stover’s home that doesn’t have a story. Take, for example, the stairs that wind up to the loft and master suite — King stained every inch of those himself. Or, perhaps the floors in the office and bedroom, which were taken from an old house being demolished on Osprey Avenue. Even their dish collection — between the two men, they have 14 sets of dishes. (Stover’s favorite set is Blue Willow.)
“Our home is like a marriage collection of some things old, some things new and, of course, a hint of blue,” Stover says.
The couple purchased their 1920s home on Floyd Avenue seven years ago and gradually made it into a two-story kingdom.
“We use what we like and things that mean something,” King says. “We like old things because we’re old.”
