Former Lakewood Ranch High center fielder Zack Larson fulfilled his childhood dream when he signed a contract with the Minnesota Twins July 15 at the Strike Zone Indoor Sports Complex.

The Twins drafted Larson with the 610th overall pick in the 20th round of the Major League Baseball First Year Player Draft June 6.

Larson spent the past month debating whether or not to sign with the Twins or go ahead with the offer he had from the State College of Florida. Larson ultimately decided to start his professional baseball career; fulfilling a dream he has had since he was 4 years old.

“It has always been my dream,” Larson said. “I’m looking forward to playing for the Twins because I will be getting professional help on everything I do. It will only make me a better player.”
