BRIDE’S PARENTS: Stanley and Janice Weintraub

HOW THEY MET: “My first thought was, ‘This is the smartest man I’ve ever met.’ I remember Googling him. He asked me to dinner, but a week later I saw him again, and he hadn’t called me. I confronted him and said, ‘You don’t even remember my name!’ He said, ‘It starts with an A!’ and snapped his fingers. Our first date was at Euphemia Haye.”

THE PROPOSAL: “He proposed at the Michael’s On East piano bar Feb. 18. I knew he was going to do it. That morning, he had asked me to go out to dinner. We don’t do formal invites like that. I said, ‘What are you going to do, propose to me?’ Four days later — right after Valentine’s Day — he did. I was almost annoyed because he got me an iPhone (for Valentine’s Day) instead of a proposal. After we got engaged, he went to California and by the time he came back, I had the date, time and venue. I would equate it to taking the Florida Bar — that’s how stressed I was.”

THE DRESS: “I picked the first one from the window. I don’t know the designer. It fit like a glove, but the dress itself had to weigh like 30 pounds. I swear, it’s like its own person. On the second fitting, I celebrated by going out for ice cream at Big Olaf.”

THE WEDDING: “I was engaged Feb. 18 and got married May 27, at the Ritz-Carlton. We had 235 guests in attendance. I did not even use a wedding planner. I had the colors, the flowers, the food, and I was done. I was working full-time, and my parents were living with us for six months during the entire thing. Talk about stress! We did our own vows and spoke from the heart. I even gave the thumbs-up sign when I finished. Rabbi Geoff Hunting had to tell me to calm down because we weren’t done.”

THE RECEPTION: “I never thought when I was a little girl that I’d get married. I’m 34 and have been married to my career. My objective for my wedding was to show love. I go to so many weddings where it’s a carnival and not sincere. We brought in Ace Factor band from Tampa. It’s a nine-piece band with a DJ. From the time we were introduced, everybody was dancing. We danced into the room to ‘Celebration.’ At this point in our lives, we figured it was more appropriate to donate to the charity we both love — Boys and Girls Club. Sal’s been on the national board since the ’80s. I’ve been on board for five years. We raised $17,000 (at our wedding).”

BRIDE-AND-GROOM’S FIRST DANCE: “Michael Buble’s ‘My Everything.’ My father-daughter dance was Kenny Rogers’ ‘Through the Year.’ Sal’s dance with his daughter was Nick Lachey’s ‘God Must Have Spent a Little More Time on You.’”

HONEYMOON: Seattle and San Francisco

FUN FACT: “My strap came off during the reception. I took the other one off and made it strapless.”
