→ Sarasota city commissioners will discuss city manager candidates and a renovation of U.S. 41 that includes two roundabouts today.

The Sarasota City Commission will be discussing city manager candidates and roundabouts on U.S. 41 at its regular meeting today at City Hall.

City commissioners will whittle its list of eight city manager finalists down to four or five candidates.

Lane closures on Siesta bridges will overlap

→ Nightly lane closures on the Siesta north bridge are expected to begin within the next week. FDOT is already closing lanes at night on the south bridge for an unrelated project.

Construction crews are replacing wood pylons that support the guardrail on the north side of the bridge among other minor concrete repairs, the spokeswoman said. The timeline for that project overlaps the north bridge (Siesta Drive) rehabilitation project expected to tie up traffic until August with nightly lane closures beginning before Monday, June 11. ...
