6:30 a.m. — 1800 block of South Osprey Avenue. Criminal Mischief. A man told police that someone stole $200 worth of PVC pipes he had placed around some bushes for future irrigation in his side yard.

12:08 a.m. — 1400 block of Main Street. Family Dispute. A man reported that a couple of drunken people at a bar bumped into his girlfriend and that he and the couple exchanged words and pushed each other before they left.

Pickup line
1:30 a.m. — 1800 block of South Tamiami Trail. Suspicious Person. A woman reported that “a creepy man” driving a white Mazda Miata approached her and asked her if she wanted a ride. Police later found the man, who had a multitude of previous charges, and warned him not to ask women he doesn’t know about rides.
Panhandling problem
2:51 p.m. — 3500 block of Fruitville Road. Trespassing. A drug-store manager told police two men keep panhandling on the store property.
Repeat offender?
7:29 p.m. — 1300 block of South Tamiami Trail. Theft. A grocery store manager told police employees intercepted a man trying to steal a razor. The manager told police two months ago, a couple stole $400 worth of merchandise. The manager questioned whether the man who fled with the razor was involved in the previous theft.

6:56 a.m. — 1900 block of North Orange Avenue. Criminal Mischief. A woman reported that a small rear passenger window in her car was smashed out.
Health-care crisis
10 a.m. — 1600 block of South Osprey Avenue. Assault. A nurse reported that a patient lunged at her and grabbed her around her neck. The nurse intends to press charges.
No shirt, no soliciting
1:09 p.m. — 1500 block of First Street. Panhandling. A city employee pointed out a man with no shirt panhandling in front of City Hall.
Mall madness
6:30 p.m. — 3500 block of South Tamiami Trail. Family Dispute. A couple in a mall parking lot got into an argument that witnesses said got violent. The couple did not want to press charges.
Getting dumped
7:35 p.m. — 2400 block of North Tamiami Trail. Theft. A woman reported that her boyfriend left all of her belongings at the front door the night after they had a fight. She reported that several things were missing, including her underwear, DVD player, food stamp card and sunglasses. She suspects the neighbors picked through her belongings.
Sense of entitlement
8:30 p.m. — 500 block of South Pineapple Avenue. Landlord Dispute. A renter told police his landlord’s daughter-in-law kept parking behind him and blocking him. The landlord told police the renter isn’t allowed to park in the spaces because they are privileged spaces that require a monthly parking fee.

9:11 p.m. — 1900 block of Main Street. Trespassing. A man who was drunk and causing a disturbance inside a movie theater was trespassed from the property.

11:40 a.m. — 3300 block of Central Avenue. Vehicle Theft. A man reported that he let an acquaintance borrow his rental car, and it was never returned.
Steep shopping trip
1:30 p.m. — 3500 block of South Tamiami Trail. Lost Property. A woman reported she lost her credit cards and driver’s license while shopping in a plaza.
Metal worker
1:45 p.m. — 1700 block of South Tamiami Trail. Theft. A construction worker reported that someone stole $13,500 worth of aluminum from a Sarasota Memorial Hospital construction site.
Return on investment
3:09 p.m. — 2800 block of Fruitville Road. Schemes to Defraud. A woman reported that a former employee used company accounts and computers to purchase five iPads and a $500 Apple gift card.

12:34 a.m. — 2000 block of Seventh Street. Robbery. A woman told police that four men began throwing eggs at her in front of her house and stole $450 in cash from her front right pocket.
