Friday, June 15, 2012 Celebrating The Wallenda Walk
Chef Paul Mattison, executive chef and proprietor of Mattison’s™, and Pedro Reis, CEO of Circus Sarasota announce an exciting, once-in-a-lifetime street party – “Above the Falls & Beyond Belief”… Celebrating the Wallenda Walk over Niagara Falls with Mattison’s™ and Circus Sarasota – on Friday, June 15, 2012 from 6pm to midnight. The event is at Mattison’s City Grille and on Lemon Avenue between Main Street and First Street. This fund-raising event for Circus Sarasota is a celebration of Sarasota’s Nik Wallenda as he walks across Niagara Falls broadcast live on ABC7 via the Jumbotron video screen.
The street party, which is free and open to the public, is a sponsored collaboration between Mattison’s™ and Circus Sarasota presenting a variety of circus performances by international circus artists and youth performers from the Sailor Circus. This fun event also offers hands-on family friendly circus activities including balloon making, face-painting, hula hoops, jugglers, tightrope walking, raffle with great prizes, silent auction (including a private dinner for eight with special dinner guests Nik and Erendira Wallenda catered by Chef Paul Mattison) and so much more!
Mattison’s City Grille offers live music, dancing and a variety of exciting food and drink specials including Wallenda Wings, Nik Burger, Circus Sarasota Salad, Flying Pizza and Tightrope Trio.
A VIP Wallenda Walk Three Ring Dinner Menu and Reserved Seating is catered by Chef Paul Mattison and offers reserved VIP seating with a perfect view of the stage and the Jumbotron video screen along with private bathrooms during the event and Valet Parking. Tickets are $100 (plus tax and tip – $50 tax deductible). The VIP Wallenda Walk Menu benefits Circus Sarasota. Seating is very limited and advance purchase required. The Vip Wallenda Walk Three Ring Circus Dinner Menu includes: Cocktail Hour – complimentary Flying Wallenda cocktail (citrus vodka, peach schnapps, cranberry and pineapple juice) served with hors d’oeuvres: Big Top Bruschetta marinated tomatoes, pesto goat cheese on crostini with basil olive oil, aged balsamic drizzle ~and~ Flying Trapeze Crab Cakes with habanero rémoulade. Dinner Menu – seated and served Great Wallenda Salad mixed field greens with toasted pine nuts, tomatoes and Gorgonzola tossed with our house made balsamic vinaigrette. The Main Event – Braised Boneless Short Ribs in a port wine reduction sauce ~and~ Pan Roasted Salmon served with Circus Train Sweet Potato Risotto, Grilled Zucchini, Roasted Red Pepper, Asparagus. Foccacia Bread with Boursin Butter is also served along with house wine. Ring Master Cheesecake topped with caramel, toasted pecans and chocolate ganache.
