Farewell to Laura Wood

Friends and family of the Asolo Rep had a farewell party for special events manager Laura Wood on June 15 in the Beau Ciel Party Room. Ms. Wood said the Asolo was her first 'real job' when she came five years ago at age 21. Producing artistic director Michael Donald Edwards said, 'I tell all the interns that their job is to make themselves indispensable which is exactly what Laura did.' She is off to New York in early July to work for Hemming + Gilman Productions, producers of major events for corporations and non-profits. Susan Buck, Molly Schechter, Stephanie Shaw and Margaret Wise organized the going away party. Guests were unanimously sad that Laura is leaving but convinced that she is making a right move at the right time.
