He's the best country singer you may not have heard of yet, but people in Lakewood Ranch sure do know the amazing David Nail. The rising country singing star is the opening act for Lady Antebellum on tour and is a huge supporter of the Payton Wright Foundation. The foundation raises money for families with children who have cancer.
Payton Wright died of brain cancer at just five years of age in 2007. Since then, the community and her family have been helping to raise awareness about the number one killer of children in the United States. Nail heard about her story through Dick Vitale, another supporter of the Wrights, and has been a staunch supporter ever since. He has performed in concert for the foundation on Main Street in Lakewood Ranch and even has Payton's initials on his guitar. He is an awesome singer and will be at Joyland Country Music Nightclub in Bradenton tonight, March 2, to perform. At the concert, the Payton Wright Foundation will auction off some rides in a Ferrari during the St. Pete Grand Prix this month, courtesy of Lakewood Ranch builder Cardel Homes. Cardel's "ride of a lifetime" gives winners the chance to ride shotgun in a Ferrari race car during the Grand Prix practice rounds. After the auction and raffle sales tonight, raffle tickets will continue to be sold at the Lakewood Ranch Information Centers this month. Tickets are $5 for one or five for $20, and the winners will be drawn on March 18 at the Cardel Homes model in the Central Park community in Lakewood Ranch. So start your engines and come out to support a great cause while hearing an amazing soon-to-be country singing superstar---oh, and ladies: he's pretty easy on the eyes, too.
