The following information was gathered from incident and arrest reports obtained from the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office. 


March 8
Day trip
7:39 p.m. — 11800 block of State Road 64 East.
Found persons. A passing motorist reported the defendant was lying on the ground. When she was located, she was cleared by EMS. She initially refused to provide any information other than her first name. The defendant eventually provided what was needed to determine her current residence. She had eluded the staff at the assisted-living facility earlier in the day, obtained a ride to Walmart on State Road 64 and walked from there to the location where she was found. The staff had reported her missing to the Bradenton Police Department after she didn’t return. She was returned to her residence without incident.

March 11
Truck trouble
5 a.m. — 1200 block of Mill Run East. 
Motor vehicle theft. The male complainant reported the suspect stole his truck from the female complainant’s residence.

Accidents happen
5:04 p.m. — 12900 block of MJ Road. Information. While assisting the Florida Highway Patrol with a traffic crash at Carlton Road and State Road 70, the complainant drove up and contacted EMS, reporting her 1-year-old son was in a bedroom watching TV when she heard a crash. Her son started to cry, and when the complainant went to check on him, she discovered the child had pulled the small 19-inch TV off of a small TV stand. She then attempted to drive the child into town for help when she discovered the crash scene. EMS cared for the child and determined he had a head injury. The child was then flown to All Children’s Hospital. At the time of the report, deputies were unable to visit the scene of the incident. After speaking with the complainant, it was clear the incident was accidental.

March 12
Sneaky, sneaky
2:30 a.m. — 20100 block of 65th Avenue East.
 Burglary to a conveyance. Unknown person(s) entered the victim’s vehicle through the unlocked door. Once inside, the person(s) removed his wallet.

Under investigation
1:58 p.m. — 23400 block of 75th Avenue East. Information only. The responding deputy arrived in reference to a horse, which appeared malnourished. Upon arrival, he located the horse in the pasture. The horse appeared old and skinny. It had two boots on its front hooves. The horse was staggering around as it walked. The horse had trouble lying down. The deputy contacted another deputy and advised him of the situation. He stated they were aware of the horse and are investigating the complainant. The horse is under a veterinarian’s care. No one was home at the residence. The responding deputy took photos of the horse.

Shopping spree
3:15 p.m. — 5100 block of Uihlein Road.
Identity theft. The victim reported her debit card numbers were used to make a total of five unauthorized transactions totaling $186.06.
