Garden: Scent-sational scenery

In 2006, Bill and Mary Lou Johnson tore down their home on Longboat Key and not only built a new home on the property but also recreated the grounds. Mary Lou Johnson had seen the landscaping work of Christine and Bryan Wasley, of Gardening South Inc., and knew they were the people for the job. Gardening South Inc. transformed the grounds into what Christine Wasley calls a “tamed jungle,” both in the front and back of the home.

One of the features that the Johnsons enjoy is that the garden is constantly changing; with a wide variety of plants comes a wide variety of smells, colors and textures throughout the year.

“It is a very feminine garden with lots of colors, curves and scents,” says Christine Wasley.

With palms by the pool and pathways throughout the property, the garden is a wonderful place to relax and explore.
