Lakewood Ranch High junior Shea Fisher went 2-for-2 with a double, four RBIs and two runs scored to lead the Lady Mustangs to an 11-1 district victory over Palmetto March 23. The Lady Mustangs outfielder followed up her performance with four more RBIs and two runs scored in Lakewood’s 15-5 victory over Pennsylvania’s Owen J. Roberts High March 24. Here is an inside look at this week’s Athlete of the Week.
Is four RBIs the most you’ve had in one game?
In the shortest amount of time, I believe so.
What does it mean to you to be able to help your team in such a positive way?
It means a lot. It’s a chance to show them that it’s not just one player. It’s the whole team.
Would you rather be in the field or at the plate?
At the plate. It gets your adrenaline pumping. If pumps up the team, which sets off a chain reaction.
How long have you been playing softball?
Eleven years. I started playing at Miss Manatee Softball. I started doing dance, but it was too frilly.
What do you enjoy the most about softball?
Scoring. It shows that even if you win by one run, you got that extra run.
Do you know what you want to be when you grow up?
A zoologist or a marine biologist. I love the ocean and water, and I love animals.
Do you have any pets?
I have four ducks and a cat. I’ve never had a dog, though.
Do you have any siblings?
I have a brother, Philip, who is 23 years old.
What’s your favorite dessert?
Carrot cake
If you could play another sport for a day, what would it be?
Basketball. I like shooting 3-pointers.
Do you have a favorite TV show?
“Big Bang Theory.” It’s so funny.
If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
Australia. It has very big oceans and lots of animals. I want to see the kangaroos.
