March 15
Shot in the dark
12:43 a.m. — 7100 block of GMD. Fireworks. Police warned five people shooting off bottle rockets and consuming alcoholic beverages.

March 16
Tag team
8:34 a.m. — 5400 block of GMD. Property Found. A town employee turned in an Ohio tag found at the intersection of Gulf of Mexico Drive, General Harris Street and Lyons Lane. Police were unable to locate the owner of the 2009 white Toyota to whom the tag is assigned.

Like father, like son
10:52 a.m. — 500 block of St. Judes Drive. Traffic Violation. While conducting registration checks, police found that the driver’s license of the owner of a Dodge truck was suspended. The driver said that his father was the owner of the truck, but police found that the driver’s license was also suspended.

No common ground
1:35 p.m. — 4400 block of GMD. Larceny from Private Property. A condominium manager reported missing a desert rose plant that was planted to honor a resident who died recently. The manager said that a small number of residents complained about the plant being placed on common grounds.

Sign steal
2:04 p.m. — 600 block of Linley Street. Larceny From Private Property. A man reported that an unknown person stole a real-estate sign and post from a property. He had already contacted code enforcement to confirm that the town hadn’t removed the sign.

March 17
Underage drinkers
12:38 p.m. — 100 block of N. Shore Road. Beverage Violation. Two underage females, one of whom gave police a fake date of birth, admitted to consuming Bud Light and said they were scared of getting in trouble after police received a report of a possible disturbance and underage drinking. The women received a notice to appear in court.

March 18
Suspended license
10:10 a.m. — 7300 block of GMD. Traffic Violation. While attempting to serve a man with a code-enforcement hearing notice, police learned that he had a suspended driver’s license. Police arrested him for driving with a suspended license.

Boat rescue
4 p.m. — Off the Key. Assist Other Agency. Police assisted Coast Guard officers with a boat that was taking on water and helped tow it inside to a boat ramp.

Not-so-itsy, bitsy spider
8:45 p.m. — 5200 block of GMD. Traffic Violation. A man said that he passed a vehicle turning left by using the bike lane and grass right of way because a spider fell into his lap and scared him. He also admitted that he doesn’t have insurance. The man received citations for driving with a suspended license and no proof of insurance and a written warning for improper passing.

March 19
Bicycle crash
12:51 p.m. — 2600 block of GMD. Bicycle Accident. A woman reported that she was in an accident the day before when she attempted to cross the street and was hit by a bicyclist, who stopped to help and provide his contact information. The woman had injuries to her leg and was planning to go to a hospital. Police left a cell-phone message for the driver.

March 21
Spring fling
12:35 a.m. — 1200 block of GMD. Noise Disturbance. A security officer told police that several people refused to leave a condominium swimming pool after the 10 p.m. closing time and later went to the beach when police arrived. Police found the group of spring breakers drinking alcohol on the beach, warned them and told them to pick up their trash before heading back to their unit.

Roaming charges
5:18 p.m. — 500 block of Harbor Gate Way. Disturbance. A man complained that his neighbors don’t pick up after their dogs and allow them to roam freely, which has resulted in the dogs running into his house when he has had his door open. Police met with the neighbor, who said that she always picks up after the dogs. The woman said that her homeowners association has not allowed her to put up a fence for her dogs and she has tried to train them so that they wouldn’t enter neighbors’ yards but hasn’t been able to do so. Police warned the woman that town ordinances prohibit dogs from roaming freely and require owners to pick up after their dogs.

POOCH problem
10:21 p.m. — 6900 block of Poinsettia Avenue. Animal Nuisance. A woman reported that a neighbor’s dogs had been barking all day long and that the owner is away on vacation. She told police that the dogs have been an ongoing problem.

March 17
Dogmatic defense
7:56 a.m. — 6900 block of Poinsettia Avenue. Animal Nuisance. Police arrived to a residence that has been the subject of multiple complaints from neighbors about barking dogs. A woman whose vehicle was parked at the home told police that she was staying at the home until the owners return from vacation and that it wasn’t her problem if the dogs barked.

Barking up the wrong Key
8:22 p.m. — 500 block of Yawl Lane. Animal Nuisance. Police left a message for a resident whose dog was barking on the back porch and disturbing neighbors. It was in violation of town ordinances.
