The police are on the lookout for a hit-and-run driver who struck a pedestrian 12:25 a.m. Monday on Midnight Pass Road near Stickney Point, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

A car struck Steve Broderick, 48, who was leaving Captain Curt’s Crab and Oyster, 1200 Stickney Point Road, and walking back to a condo he was renting on the Key.

Broderick remains hospitalized at Sarasota Memorial Hospital and was seriously injured.

Two other accidents involving pedestrians have already occurred this year. One of those pedestrians was a fatality and the other has been released from the hospital. Both of those cases resulted in drunken driving charges for the drivers.
