Time to call it quits
6:59 p.m. — 3800 block of South Osprey Avenue. Dispute. A liquor store manager told police a drunken woman entered his store and urinated in her pants while trying to find another beverage to continue her St. Patrick’s Day celebration. Police couldn’t locate the woman, who finally agreed to leave after acting belligerent and threatening toward other customers.

March 18
Under wraps
9:53 a.m. — 1700 block of Ringling Boulevard. Theft. A condominium property manager reported that someone stole a painting, which was valued at $500, from the complex’s west elevator. Later, they called back police to report that two of the condo’s trash cans, valued at $650, were found in the back of a unit owner’s sport utility vehicle in the parking garage. The unit owner told police he was just borrowing the trash cans. While police retrieved the property, it was discovered that the painting, which was wrapped in a sheet, was sitting in the garage near the elevator where the unit owner had appeared. The property manager told police he saw the unit owner place the property there before he approached them. The unit owner was placed under arrest for stealing condominium property.

March 19
No longer BFFs
2 a.m. — 3900 block of South Tamiami Trail. Robbery. A woman told police she picked up her girlfriend, who requested they stop at a drug store to pick up a pack of cigarettes. When they got to the parking lot, the friend began hitting her in the face before reaching into her bra and grabbing $150 in cash from it. The friend also ripped off her 14-karat gold necklace before getting out of the car and running northbound. The woman agreed to end her friendship and press charges against the former friend.

Cable conundrum 
11:10 a.m. — 1800 block of Morrill Street. Dispute. Two men told police they were in a dispute over who owed what for a cable bill. Police told them to work it out or spend even more money to settle the matter in court.

Call back
6 p.m. — 1900 block of Main Street. Suspicious Circumstance. A man approached police and said he was looking for his 90-year-old elderly neighbor. The man promised to call the officer back if the man was missing. The officer waited for a call that never came and assumed everything was OK.

Time to think
8:35 p.m. — 300 block of South Pineapple Avenue. Trespassing. Police saw several people sitting on the benches at Pineapple Park and asked a man who reeked of alcohol for his identification. When he finally told them his name, it was revealed he had already been issued a trespass waning at the property. The man told police he was aware of the trespass warning but said he “didn’t give a damn.” The man was taken to jail, where he could ponder whether he cared about being locked up.

March 20
Sweatshirt off her back
6:19 a.m. — 300 block of South Pineapple Avenue. Theft. A woman told police a man stole her gray sweatshirt. She was sleeping in a tent the night before and in the middle of the night, she was surprised to find a male acquaintance sleeping at the end of the tent. She got into an argument with him and he fled. In the morning, she woke and saw him wearing her sweatshirt and he refused to give it back. She was told to call police if she saw the man again.

Sibling rivalry
10:34 a.m. — 20 block of South Palm Avenue. Trespassing. A woman got into an argument with a man over consigned property she was selling for the man’s sister. The man argued over the price the property was sold for and wanted a copy of the bill of sale. The woman promised to mail a bill of sale to him, but he became verbally abusive and refused to leave. Police told the man if he had a problem with what his sister’s property sold for, he needed to take it up with his sister. The man was trespassed from the store.

Scooter slipup
11:15 a.m. — 1900 block of Main Street. Crash. Police approached a scooter resting on its side on the south side of Main Street. The driver told police his foot slipped, and when he tried to regain his balance, he gripped the throttle accidentally, causing the scooter to lunge forward and hit a parked car. The man was not injured, and he and the driver exchanged insurance information to pay for a scrape on the rear panel of the Jaguar.

Squatters reported
11:45 a.m. — 2300 block of Sixth Street. Trespassing. A man told police he saw four people walk out of a vacant house and run north. Police promised to keep an eye on the home, which is in foreclosure.
