Joint concert raises funds for the needy

The Riverview Kiltie Band and Green Band held a joint concert Tuesday, March 27, at the Riverview Performing Arts Center. The concert was open to the public and free to attend, however, people were encouraged to donate money. The total amount raised, according to Kiltie Band Director Mark Spreen, was $1,240.

The two bands split the money, giving each group $620 to donate. The Kiltie Band plans to donate its half to the tornado victims in the Midwest, and the Green Band will be donating its portion to help the tsunami and earthquake victims in Japan.
