Sarasota resident John Bowman enjoys whipping up his own recipes in the kitchen to prepare meals for family and friends. He says he’s not one to follow recipes; he likes to keep things relaxed and adds many of his ingredients on a to-taste basis. Bowman shows us how to prepare his own recipe for a summer salad, just in time for the warm weather.
Ingredients
1 head Boston Bibb lettuce, quartered
Thinly sliced red onion
Sliced red apple
Pomegranate arils
Walnuts candied in a pan with mace, sugar and butter
Fresh goat cheese
Dressing
1 naval orange
1/8 cup of oil
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
2 tablespoons of red wine vinegar
½ shallot, diced
Salt and pepper to taste
Chopped tarragon to taste
