The Sarasota County Commission will meet twice this week with agendas that are light on Siesta Key-centric topics. But, public complaints about noise in the Village, erosion damage on Beach Road, and anticipation of staff recommendations about the Siesta Key beach improvement project could come during commission reports or other business.

Counsel representing Avenida Del Norte property owner Scott Young will ask County commissioners tomorrow to amend a dock license agreement to reduce co-insurance coverage for the county from $500,000 to $300,000. The property owner will keep $500,000 of total coverage, and county risk management staff approved the amendment.

Other County Commission topics to watch this week:
• Request by Hilary May for a temporary-use permit to allow Tough Mudder fitness event at Hi Hat Ranch Dec. 1 and Dec. 2.

• Request by Sarasota County staff for County Commission approval of a $1.8 million contract with Traffic Control Devices Inc., for new traffic light system to aid emergency services.

• Public hearing for County Commission to consider 194-acre development between Honore Avenue and I-75, which includes 267 single-family homes, a community center and a pool.
