Oct. 31
Book ‘em, Dan-o
12:18 a.m. — 16300 block of Baycross Drive. Suspicious Incidents. While entering her home, a woman heard a loud noise and thought it was a sliding glass door. The woman left the house and returned with a security guard. The woman found two books on the floor in the study, which she didn’t remember being on the floor. There were no signs of forced entry and nothing was missing from the home. The woman was told to call the police again if she discovered items were missing.
Tag, you’re it
3:44 p.m.—6100 block of Turnbury Park Dr. Larceny Petit First Offense. A woman reported that an unknown person stole her tag decal.
Nov. 1
Lacking information
1 a.m. — 10600 block of Old Grove Circle. Burglary of Unoccupied Dwelling/Unarmed. Unknown individuals entered a home through an unlocked door and took undisclosed items. The suspects fled in an unknown direction.
Nov. 2
A real visionary
3:54 p.m. 6200 block of State Road 64 E. Petit Theft First Degree. An employee was arrested after admitting to taking $101.00 from a drawer in the store’s vision center.
Complimentary paint job
7 p.m. — 4300 block of 39th St. E. Criminal Mischief. While legally parked in a parking lot, a vehicle’s tires were punctured with metal spikes and a liquid was poured onto all painted surfaces.
Nov. 3
Pick-up artist
8:57 a.m. — 11200 block of State Road 70 E. Petit Theft. A woman put her wallet down while grocery shopping and when she returned to retrieve it, it was gone. While viewing surveillance footage the next day, the woman said she saw a white male grab her wallet and walk away. The store manager identified the male suspect as a regular customer, but police determined it was impossible to see whether the item the male suspect picked up was actually a wallet. The case is being investigated.
Nov. 4
Smash and grab
7:47 a.m.—800 block of 128th St. NE. Burglary of a Vehicle. Suspects stole a GPS system from an unlocked vehicle, then smashed the front passenger-side window of another vehicle to steal two purses containing cash and other items.
Nov. 5
Stealthy steal
6:29 p.m.— 5800 block of Ranch Lake Blvd. Shoplifting. An officer responded to a shoplifting call at a store. Some of the items were recovered and released to the store at the scene, and other items were later located and placed into property and evidence. The suspect was transported to the Manatee County Jail.
