Nov. 2
Bridal bash
10:47 p.m. — 4700 block of GMD.
Noise Disturbance. A caller said that 20 to 30 people in a hotel room that was a wedding party rented were being loud. The bride said that the rest of the crowd left after the group got a call from the front desk and that only she and her bridesmaids were still in the room.

Nov. 3
Seen but not heard
12:03 a.m. — 600 block of Cedar Street.
Noise Disturbance. Police found a man sitting on his back porch but didn’t hear anything when responding to the home for a noise complaint. The man said he was just about to go inside.

Here to stay
10:36 a.m. — 3300 block of GMD. Harassing Phone Calls. A couple began receiving calls from different moving companies about their upcoming move from Longboat Key to Bradenton, even though they aren’t moving anywhere.

Roadside assistance
9:44 p.m. — 4600 block of GMD. Traffic. Police provided a gallon of gas for a disabled vehicle and helped the driver jumpstart the vehicle.

Nov. 4
Closing time
10:58 p.m. — 100 block of GMD.
Beverage Violation. Four people received written warnings after entering a town park carrying beer around the park’s closing time yelling, swearing and creating a scene.

Water damage
11:10 p.m. — 3300 block of Bayou Gate. Public Service. A sprinkler line broke under the driveway of a home, pushing up the property’s brick pavers. The owner planned to call her landscaping company in the morning.

Nov. 5
Wake-up call
2:07 a.m. — 5600 block of GMD.
Suspicious Circumstance. A woman was awakened by the sound of someone pounding on her door. Police arrived in less than two minutes but couldn’t find anyone nearby.

Nov. 6
Smoke signal
8:30 a.m. — 500 block of Bay Isles Parkway.
Structure Fire. Drugstore employees told police that smoke was coming from the store’s air ducts. Firefighters shut off power to the air-conditioning unit.

Permitting issues
1:28 p.m. — 6500 block of Bayou Hammock Road. Property Damage. A landscaper said that a homeowner hired him to trim a hole in mangroves on his property to allow a water view. The landscaper said that he isn’t licensed by the state to trim mangroves and couldn’t determine if the property owner had a permit to trim them. Police called a state agency to check permits.

Nov. 7
Personal matter
4:44 p.m. — 4200 block of GMD.
Disturbance/Conduct. A woman who receives 24-hour care disapproved of the “personal grooming attention” that her caretaker was in need of, causing an argument. The caretaker left after a different caretaker arrived.

Paddle battle
9:24 p.m. — Linley Street and Bayside Drive. Disturbance/Conduct. Three people argued loudly about who would paddle a kayak out to a sailboat located just offshore. Two of the men had an unopened bottle of whiskey and admitted to having a few drinks. The third person, who was an underage female, said that she just arrived and hadn’t been drinking. Her father confirmed that she was allowed to be with the men.
