Students in Laurie Rahn’s first-grade class at Willis Elementary School celebrated American Education Day Nov. 15, with a special visit from Hernando DeSoto Association Princess Alanna Massey.

Massey discussed Hernando DeSoto and the Conquistador Historical Foundation, and also shared some of her travels as princess. She also read a story to the class.

Massey was escorted by Lisa Sokos, whose husband, Gus, is captain of the Conquistadors.
