Ranch hospital gets early Christmas gift

The Payton Wright Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to assisting families of children with brain cancer, has donated more than$2,000 in toys for Lakewood Ranch Medical Center's new pediatric unit.

Foundation co-founder Patrick Wright and friend Steve Hopkins delivered the toys Wednesday.

Toys for the pediatric unit's playroom include Wii video game systems — one for each of six units — as well as video games, board games, baby dolls, stuffed animals, musical toys and more.
