Sarasota County Zoning Administrator Brad Bailey approved an alternative parking plan to accommodate a new restaurant proposed for Siesta Key, which permitting documents indicate will be a new island location for a third Eat Here restaurant.

County Planning and Development Services is currently reviewing a permit application for an estimated $307,476 alteration “to build a new resturaunt (sic),” according a description on the county website. Eat Here already has locations in downtown Sarasota and Anna Maria Island, which have been praised by local publications and food critics.

County staff issued a permit for a $13,280 alteration at 230 Avenida Madera Sept. 28, which was for initial work to remove some existing features from the location. Zoning Administrator Brad Bailey earlier approved a parking plan for the new restaurant that included using 52 existing spaces in the Village, given its hours would not overlap nearby businesses, according to notes from plans examiner Jeff Bowman.
