The Siesta Key Association will meet tomorrow afternoon for its monthly meeting, during which Sarasota County Project Manager Curtis Smith will have about 20 minutes to update members and take questions about the $21 million Siesta public beach improvement project.

Smith sent sample questions provided by SKA President Catherine Luckner to the Pelican Press, which also includes a question about the delayed Beach Road stormwater runoff enhancements. But, he noted that he would spend most of the allotted time discussing the processes involved with the beach renovation project, with some discussion about the “next steps.”

The project, which has risen in estimated price from about $6 million to $21 million since it was proposed, has Siesta Key stakeholders seeking ways to corral its cost and simplify Sarasota County budgeting. Smith said in the email he plans to bring a poster board with the preliminary plans as a visual background.
