ECO Rotary heats up

Members of the ECO Rotary Club of East Manatee donned aprons and cooking utensils and brought out their best recipes for chili, during the Parrish Heritage Days Parade and Festival March 2.

Rotary members put on the heat, earning first place in the festival’s chili cook off.

Its chili, dubbed “Nicely Sweet,” beat 21 other chili recipes.

The Rotary Club also cooked up a chili it named “Spicy Heat,” which members said proved to be more popular among festival guests. Only the “Nicely Sweet” recipe, however, was entered in the contest.

ECO Rotary members also staffed the beer booth during the event for the Parrish Civic Association.
