Two keyboardists and a percussionist were what The Players Theatre of Sarasota’s budget for “Side Show” allotted. The dark musical is loosely based on the vaudeville act of good-looking Siamese twins, Daisy and Violet Hilton. It’s a tragic story based in the 1920s, and it’s completely sung-through (meaning there’s music the entire duration of the musical) — which is why they need another musician.

The cast knew of a particular musician that is able to play four woodwind instruments. So, the cast banded together and thought of ways to raise the $1,200 required to fund her. The Thursday, April 25 opening is only a week away, and as of Thursday, April 18, the cast has managed to raise $610.

Click here to help. They will work for their money, too! So step right up and pay a dime: $10 gets a thank-you note from Daisy and Violet Hilton, $25 a signed poster from the cast, $50 an article of clothing bedazzled by one of the male leads (David Walker, the Boss) and $100 a special serenade from Violet and Daisy.
