East County athletes qualify for regional and state meets

Class 3A-District 9
The Lakewood Ranch High boys and girls track team crowned eight individual champions at the Class 3A-District 9 meet April 17 in Seffner.

The Lady Mustangs won the overall district title, and the boys finished third.
The top four finishers in each event earned a berth in the Class 3A-Region 3 meet April 25, at Charlotte High.

Class 1A-region 3
The Out-of-Door Academy’s Ashtin Frank and Catherine Williams both captured regional titles to lead the Lady Thunder to a sixth-place finish at the 27-team Class 1A-Region meet April 18, at Shorecrest Prep.
The top-four finishers in each event will advance to the FHSAA Finals April 26 in Jacksonville.
