MADE, located at 1990 Main St., Sarasota, has one strong Manhattan, let me tell you. You definitely get your money’s worth out of that drink.

It isn’t just delicious and dangerous, it’s a classic. Kelly Crawford, a bartender at Modern American Delicious Eats, or MADE, told me the recipe came from old bartender bibles from the ’20s and ’30s.

The Manhattan 

2 ounces Woodford Reserve bourbon

1/2 ounce of Carpano Antica Formula Vermouth

Dash of bitters

3 squirts Amarena cherry juice

Add all ingredients to a shaker, but in true MADE style do not shake. MADE never shakes its whiskey, so stir the mixture. Strain the mixed cocktail into a glass over ice. Garnish with a twist of lemon rind and three Amarena cherries, and you’re done.
