When Lakewood Ranch resident Don O’Leary heard the Food Bank of Manatee was in dire need of food donations, he scheduled an Aug. 3 emergency pickup within the Lakewood Ranch Golf and Country Club and Edgewater communities.
After promoting the drive for just a few days, he and friends Dick Moran and Rich Lozier picked up 1,600 pounds of food and $6,940 in donations.
“For an emergency pickup, it was fantastic,” O’Leary says.
