Clasico, located at 1341 Main St.,
Sarasota, serves a number of striking cocktails. It has flips, martinis, juleps and a number of not-so-traditional beverages.

One cocktail you’re not going to find on the menu is the Red Dream. A few patrons asked bartender Chris Gemmill what his specialty drink was, and, because he didn’t have one, he threw something together and the result was an alcoholic strawberry creamsicle in a martini glass.

Now, through word of mouth, others ask for his signature drink, the Red Dream. Some bartenders from Philadelphia came into Clasico and left telling Gemmill they were going to bring the drink back to Philly.

So, you'd better stop in and get that bad boy before it becomes a national thing; right now it’s a Sarasota special. Warning: You could gulp down quite a few of these because they taste so good. I don't recommend  that.

Red Dream

1 ounce simple syrup

2  strawberries

2 ounces Marilyn Monroe Strawberry Vodka

1 ounce pink lemonade

Splash of Sprite

Put the simple syrup into a glass. Then, place the strawberries into that glass and muddle them together. Pour in vodka, lemonade and Sprite, then shake. Strain your cocktail into a martini glass and garnish with a strawberry, if you desire.
