Just hearing the name of a restaurant can pose a threat, question or an immediate craving. The latter being the success of a great name - Sage Biscuit. Located on Cortez Rd, (next to Anna Maria Island Oyster Bar) Sage Biscuit OF COURSE has great homemade biscuits, coconut cream pies and a darn good house cured pastrami sandwich. Sometimes it is hard to narrow it down to just one menu item, but the falafel sandwich on grilled flat bread,(pita style) is just so wonderful it would challenge any good stand in NYC.

Served open faced, you can use a fork and knife or roll it up and dive into mouthfuls of the crispy outer texture with a bold hit of seasoning and cooling yogurt drizzle.

While some may think it too far a drive- trust me on this. Go to the beach on Anna Maria Island and then head back, with a worthwhile stop at Sage Biscuit.
