Couple sets sail to matrimony

Kelsey Brooke Lashway, daughter of Wayne and Toni Lashway, of Longboat Key, married Alan Daniel Yim, of Boston, July 28. Yim is the son of Ming Do and Wah Kit Yim.

After graduating from Flagler College, Lashway moved to Boston to pursue her master’s degree in psychology. It was in Boston where the couple met through mutual friends.

They were married on board “The Majesty” in Boston Harbor. The bride wore a traditional white gown for the wedding and changed into a traditional Chinese wedding dress for the Chinese reception. The reception, which began with a tea ceremony to thank their parents for raising them, was held at Hei La Moon restaurant in Boston. The couple is spending their two-week honeymoon in Hawaii.

Lashway is a middle-school guidance counselor, and Yim is a mechanical engineer. The couple will reside in Watertown, Mass.
