Christopher Kevin Landry, 69, of Boston and Longboat Key, died Aug. 1.
Born April 18, 1944, in Boston, he graduated from Middlesex School in 1962 and earned his Bachelor of Arts in economics from Harvard in 1966 and his MBA from the Wharton School of Finance in 1968.
He served in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1966 to 1974.
Mr. Landry worked at TA Associates from 1968 to 2013, becoming general partner in 1972, managing partner in 1982, CEO in 1984, chairman in 2007 and senior adviser in 2012.
He was a recipient of the David T.W. McCord ’21 Award in 1994; Harvard’s Flood Leadership Award in 1991; the Harvard Medal in 2010; and Henry Cabot Lodge ’20 Distinguished Alumni Award from Middlesex School in 2012. He was also named to the Private Equity Hall of Fame in 1997.
Mr. Landry served as director of the National Venture Capital Association from 1983 to 1987. He was a trustee at Middlesex School from 1975 to 2009, including 25 years as treasurer, a trustee of the Museum of Fine Arts from 1998 to 2010 and an honorary trustee from 2010 to 2013.
He was co-chairman of the Harvard University Boston Faculty of Arts and Sciences (FAS) Major Gifts Committee, Committee on University Resources and FAS Dean’s Council and the class of 1966’s 25th, 30th, 35th, 40th and 45th reunion committees.
Mr. Landry is survived by his wife, G. Barrie; children Christopher Landry, of New York City, Kimberly GwinnLandry, of Wellesley, Mass., and Jennifer Landry Le, of Riverside, Conn.; brother, Brian Landry, of Katonah, N.Y.; sisters Brenda Landry and Christina Landry, both of Sarasota; and nine grandchildren.
