Class is in session at FSU/Asolo Conservatory

Before the first day of class this morning, the 36 students of FSU/Asolo Conservatory met for breakfast and orientation. “How was your summer?” was the recurring question students, donors, faculty and staff asked. There were hugs and excited giggles as students shared what they did for the summer. Some filled their months off taking classes and seeing plays in London and traveling to the surrounding areas like the second-year students did; and some had more relaxing summers spent seeing family and getting a tan poolside.

Dressed to the nines, all of the students and faculty posed for a yearly photo to kick off the upcoming year. You will see some of the by now familiar third-year students on stage in Asolo Repertory’s season. The second-year students will perform in David Ives' “The School For Lies,” opening Oct. 29; Joe Orton’s “Loot” opening Feb. 18; Paula Vogel’s “How I Learned to Drive” opening Feb. 18; and Jean Anouilh’s “Antigone” opening April 8. The first-year students will get their feet under them by building their foundations with acting classes before we’ll get to see them on stage.
