'The World's End'
Two Popcorns

Genre: Comedy
Cast: Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Paddy Considine, Martin Freeman, Eddie Marsan, Rosamund Pike
Director: Edgar Wright
Rating: R

Comment: An extremely bazaar storyline evolution from a mundane tale about middle-aged English buddies trying to revisit their old drinking days. It somehow morphs into a battle to save mankind from robots who have taken over humans. Well-written script, but difficult keeping up with the English, snappy patter comic lines. Again, bazaar!

'Paranoia'
Three Popcorns

Genre: Drama
Cast: Liam Hemsworth, Gary Oldman, Harrison Ford, Amber Heard, Lucas Till
Director: Robert Luketic
Rating: PG-13

Comment: Compelling storyline about two high-tech giants unethically battling for new product marketshare using industrial espionage tactics. Shades of Steve Jobs and Bill Gates battles. Weak dialogue from time to time, but the story keeps you engaged.

'You're Next'
Two Popcorns

Genre: Suspense/Thriller
Cast: Sharni Vinson, Nicholas Tucci, Wendy Glenn, A.J. Bowen, Joe Swanberg
Director: Adam Wingard
Rating: R

Comment: Lots of seriously eye-closing gore scenes and characters in pain and suffering but an edge-of-your-seat thriller with lots of twists and turns that lock you into the story. Best seen on a smaller screen.
