Thirteen-year old Anjuli Hookway donated $63 Saturday, Aug. 24, to Royal Rescue, a local organization that rescues cats and dogs from high-kill shelters.

While spending her summer in her second home on Longboat Key, Anjuli visited Wet Noses.

She was so taken with the puppies she saw that she decided to make and sell bracelets to raise funds. Anjuli made approximately 25 bracelets out of cotton thread in a variety of colors.

She sold the bracelets to friends and family for about $5 each and donated the proceeds to Royal Rescue, which will use the funds to buy food for the puppies.

The London native has been coming to her second home on Longboat Key since she was 7 months old. Anuli loves animals and has a miniature wirehaired dachshund in London named Rolo.
