+ Miss Manatee registration begins
Registration for the Miss Manatee Softball 2013 fall season will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Aug. 30 and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 31, at the Miss Manatee Softball Complex located at Lakewood Ranch High.

Registration is open to all girls, ages 5 to 16. New players should bring a copy of their birth certificate.

+ PST Academy tryouts upcoming
PST Academy will hold tryouts for its 13U showcase travel baseball team from 9 a.m. to noon Sept. 7 and Sept. 8, at Palma Sola Park, 7915 40th Ave. W., Bradenton.

Players will participate in a series of speed, agility, offensive and defensive drills.

The team will be announced in mid-September. Selected players will be entitled to one free lesson per week with a member of the PST Academy coaching staff.

The PST Elite 13U team will compete in a variety of tournaments, including Nations Baseball, USSSA and Winning Inning, among others.
