Turn back time with Dean Johanesen at Ocean Blues

Kick off the weekend early with a dose of vintage-tinted live music, courtesy of Dean Johanesen. The New York native singer-songwriter has gained popularity in the Sarasota music scene over the years with his mix of folk, Americana and gypsy jazz, ala Django Reinhardt, with which he channels the spirit of the 1920s and 1930s to tell stories of circus performers and prohibition.

Johanesen will take the stage tonight at 7 pm. for his monthly performance at Ocean Blues, 1936 Hillview Ave.
