The Sarasota Sailing Squadron is hosting the 67th annual Labor Day Regatta this weekend. Festivities run through Sunday.

The event typically draws more than 1,000 visitors and this year more than 300 competitors are expected to participate. The regatta is open to anyone between the ages of 8 and 80, and all classes of sailing vessels are allowed.

There will be five separate race courses. Live music, barbecue and refreshments will be offered during the weekend event.

This event is well known for the hospitality provided by the Sarasota Sailing Squadron, the camaraderie among the community of sailors and it reminds us all that Sarasota Bay is our most unique and valued community asset,” said Labor Day Regatta Chairwoman Donna Hillmyer in a statement from the Sarasota Sailing Squadron website.
