The title of Good Graeff’s forthcoming EP, ‘Good Job Go,’ seems to simultaneously summarize the band’s progress thus far and predict the next step in what’s shaping up to be a promising career.

Twin sisters Brooke and Brittany Graeff already have the whole "good job" thing down — in less than a year, they’ve moved from Vietnam to Sarasota, where they released their five-song debut EP, ‘Better Half;’ embarked on a several-month tour of the East Coast and Canada; signed with booking agent Madison House, Inc. and music lawyer Richard Grabel (who’s represented acts including Modest Mouse, Yeasayer and the Lumineers); and recorded their to-be-released EP, as well as a few covers for Cleopatra Records.

With all they’ve packed into the last few months, the indie-pop duo is poised for its next step: "Go."

They say their recent road experience helped them polish their new songs and improve their confidence as players, and the new EP serves as a sort of audible manifestation of this progress.

“I love the songs,” says Brooke. “They’re way more developed than the first EP. They’re stronger, more powerful and more memorable. I’m still happy with ‘Better Half,’ but I think with these songs, we’re really moving away from folk and more toward pop-rock.”

The band’s thumbprint remains intact throughout the new five-track EP; its short-and-sweet pop songs still build upon Brooke's upbeat acoustic chord progressions and Brittany's classically inspired cello melodies, but now, with the addition of both rhythm and lead electric guitar parts, the songs achieve a much fuller and heavier sound.

After completing a short Florida tour, during which Ian Oehler will play drums, the sisters hope to release ‘Good Job Go,’ along with several new music videos early next year. They say they’re anxious to provide some fresh content for their fans and all the people who have been willing to help them along the way.

“It’s worked out really well for us in that way,” says Brittany. “When you’re passionate about what you’re doing, it gets other people excited about it, too. And that’s what we want — to do something that makes the people around us want to participate.”

+ IF YOU GO: Catch the band as it returns for its first Sarasota show in months at 9 p.m. this Saturday, Dec. 7, at Growler’s Pub. Also on the bill are Hail Dale and the Orlando-based Plush Monsters.
