+ Catapulting into first place
Seven Manatee County elementary schools competed in the countywide Technology Student Association catapult competition Nov. 16, at Southeast High School. Students built the catapults on-site.

East County schools performed well with Freedom Elementary securing first- and fourth-place finishes, McNeal earning second- and sixth-place awards and an honorable mention, and Braden River Elementary taking home a third-place finish, out of 46 teams.
