+ Cheesecake Factory coming to Mall at UTC
Taubman Centers, co-developer of the under-construction Mall at University Town Center, has announced three new restaurants to its tenant mix.

The Cheesecake Factory, The Capital Grille and Kona Grill join previously announced Brio Tuscan Grille and Seasons 52 as restaurants coming to the $315 million mall.

Each of these restaurants is new to the Sarasota market.  

Other confirmed tenants entering the mall, which is being developed in partnership with Benderson Development, include Saks Fifth Avenue, Macy’s, Dillard’s, Smoothie King and American Eagle Outfitters. 

The Capital Grille, part of the Orlando-based Darden Restaurants, is known as a fine-dining steakhouse. Like The Cheesecake Factory, The Capital Grille has a location in International Plaza in Tampa — a Taubman-owned mall.

Kona Grill, a sushi restaurant, also has a location in Tampa.

The Cheesecake Factory is known for its extensive menu and, of course, cheesecake. 

+ Two appointed to Manatee County Planning Commission
The Manatee County Board of County Commissioners appointed two new members to the Manatee County Planning Commission Dec. 5.

Albert Horrigan, an East County resident, and Matthew Bower were appointed to four-year terms.
Bower replaces retiring commission member David Wick, while Horrigan takes over for George Mendez.

Horrigan is a real-estate broker for Keller Williams Realty and a specialist in urban and resort land development.

Bower is a firm administrator/chief operating office/marketing officer for Luhrsen Law Group, in Sarasota.

He also is the president-elect of the Sarasota-Manatee Chapter of the Association of Legal Administrators.

The Planning Commission consists of seven members whom the County Commission appoints.
