WEEKEND BEST BET: Holidays Around the Ranch

A guest appearance by Santa Claus, on his white, garland-wrapped, horse-drawn carriage, along with a cookie-decorating station, Harvest United Methodist carolers and lighting of the Christmas tree, will transform Lakewood Ranch Main Street from 6 to 9 p.m. Dec. 13.

An annual event by the Lakewood Ranch Community Activities Corporation, Holidays around the Ranch invites parents to join their children in the excitement of the arrival of St. Nick, allowing adults to relive their childhood, if only for a night.

Sip on hot cocoa and eggnog, or lace up skates and whirl around an acrylic rink. If balance is an issue and the ankles won't allow the activity, take a seat and watch the children take a ride around the freshly-lit tree, on the Choo-Choo Express.
