Mr. Fix-it
7:17 p.m. — 300 block of North Shore Road. Suspicious Circumstance. A man with a heavy accent called a Key resident and said there was a problem with the resident’s computer that he could fix for $200. After the resident told the caller he was contacting the FBI, the caller said he’d fix the computer for free. The resident hung up and didn’t provide the caller any information.

sleep it off
8:17 a.m. — 2000 block of Harbourside Drive. Suspicious Person. Police responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle and found two people asleep in a truck. The man said the night before they had been with a friend who lives with his grandmother and were supposed to stay at the friend’s home, but the grandmother wouldn’t allow it. They were too tired to drive home, so their friend told them to park and sleep overnight.

Family ties
9:36 p.m. — 500 block of Bay Isles Parkway. Public Service. A store manager called police because a man in a wheelchair told him his sister lives on the island, and he didn’t have a way of getting to the residence. Police drove him to the home where he said his sister lived but no one answered the door. The man said he is homeless and has no money for a hotel. Police gave him a ride to the Salvation Army.

Car trouble
11:12 a.m. — 4700 block of GMD. Suspicious Person. A hotel manager reported that a vehicle in the parking lot wasn’t registered to a guest. Police spoke to the owner, who was sitting in the front seat when they arrived. She said she pulled into the parking lot because she was having car trouble earlier. The woman’s friend arrived and helped her get the car started.

30-day rule
3:37 p.m. — 500 block of Bay Isles Road. Civil Disturbance. A man said he had dropped off a $100 pair of pants at a dry cleaner but was told they were missing. An employee told police it’s store policy to pay customers for missing items 30 days after the pickup date.

No trespassing
1:32 a.m. — 1600 block of GMD. Trespassing. A man and woman whose vehicle was parked at the shuttered Colony Beach & Tennis Resort said they wanted to go for a walk on the beach but knew they weren’t supposed to be on the property. Police issued them both citations for trespassing.
