Backstage Blogger - A Sarasota actress shines the spotlight behind the curtain

Sarasota, without a doubt, abounds with culture. As a spectator, it can be a very exciting place to live if you want to immerse yourself in the local art, theater, dance and music scene. The same can certainly be said for the Sarasota artist. As This Week in Sarasota’s new Backstage Blogger, I hope to illustrate what it’s like to be a Sarasota actress from behind-the-scenes. You often see the finished product, but I have found that there is a fascinating, satisfying, passionate, hard-working, and at times maddening story to be shared from behind the curtain.

There are a lot of performers in the area and while I certainly can’t speak for all experiences, I can give you the point-of-view of one who was born and grew up here, went away to college to study Musical Theater, decided not to move to New York and returned to Sarasota to find both professional and amateur satisfaction within the theatrical community. I have performed with just about all professional and community theaters in the area. I even venture into the film and television scene on occasion.
