Longboat Key resident Larry Greenspon will compete in this year’s Maccabiah Games in Israel — the world’s largest Jewish athletic competition that takes place once every four years in Israel.

Greenspon is international chair of the Israel Tennis Centers Foundation, which will host some of the events.

“Competing at the Maccabiah Games at Ramat Hasharon is a dream come true,” Greenspon said in a news release. “It is very special that these matches are being held at Israel Tennis Centers, which have transformed the lives of more than 400,000 Israeli children in the past 36 years.”
