SIGNING OFF
6:00 p.m. — 9000 block of Midnight Pass Road. Grand Theft. A man staying at a resort left his laptop after checking out. When he called the owner, the laptop was not found in the room. The owner said the only person with access to the room was the front desk clerk. After being questioned about the laptop, the clerk submitted a letter of resignation.
DIRTY DANCING
10:50 p.m. — 900 block of Beach Road. Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer. A young male and female were dancing in the pavilion at the beach when an officer attempted to walk around them. The male turned to the officer and began grinding against the officer’s left side.
July 1
PHONE BATTERY
2:00 a.m. — 5000 block of Ocean Boulevard. Battery. An employee of a bar was leaving the establishment when another man, an ex-employee, yelled at him. When the employee turned around to face him, the ex-employee threw a cell phone and struck the employee in the face. The ex-employee gathered the pieces of his cell phone and left the bar.

SNEAKY, SNEAKY
1:46 a.m. 2000 block of Main Street. Introduction of Contraband. A man was found urinating inside a trashcan outside of a convenience store. He was asked if he had any contraband on him and said no. After he was arrested, he was searched in the booking area, and a deputy discovered a small plastic bag of marijuana in the man’s buttocks.

WHERE’S THE BEEF?
12:46 a.m. — 1400 block of Main Street. Burglary. A man said he heard people downstairs at his business. When he checked to see what was going on, he saw two males taking meat from the refrigerator and a woman standing as lookout. The man began wrestling with the suspects, who eventually broke loose. The man said he was able to chase down one of the burglars, but the woman hit him in the face, which allowed them to get away.
PARTY HARD
1:19 a.m. — 1400 block of Main Street. Trespassing. Two bouncers said a man at a nightclub was being aggressive with other patrons and causing a disturbance. When a bouncer tried to escort the man out and take his drink, the man resisted and threw down his glass. The manager requested the man be trespassed from the building. The man said he did not agree, but he understood the decision.
BITTEN ARM OF THE LAW
3:10 a.m. — 2700 block of N. Washington Boulevard. Assault of a Law Officer — Non-Serious Injury. A man was seen driving north on North Washington Boulevard, veering between lanes and riding onto the curb. The man did not immediately respond to police sirens or red lights. When the car was finally stopped, the man was verbally combative and resisted handcuffing. After being handcuffed and placed against the police car, he bit a police officer in the left arm.

CAFFEINE RUSH
7:47 a.m. — 1400 block of First Street. Other Disorderly Conduct. A woman entered a coffee shop, from which she had previously been trespassed, and began to harass employees and patrons. An employee alerted the cops and told the woman to fix her coffee and then leave. The woman was gone when cops arrived.
TOOL TIME
4:15 p.m. — 1300 block of 24th Street. Dispute/Fight. A man was at his house when an acquaintance showed up, intoxicated, and claimed that the man had tools that belonged to the acquaintance. The man had given the acquaintance two tools, but did not know what the acquaintance was talking about. The man said a male he did not recognize was in the passenger’s seat of the acquaintance’s truck, and that the unknown male may have had a gun. The acquaintance left the area, and the man was still not sure what the problem was, since they had not had contact for months.
UNFARE
4:34 p.m. — 1900 block of 24th Street. Petit Theft. A cab driver picked up a woman and took her to a residence, where the woman asked him to wait while she went in. The driver saw the woman walk out and continue walking north, and he continued to wait for 40 minutes. Another female approached him and informed him that the woman had purchased drugs and got into another vehicle and left. The driver said the unpaid fare was $30.
