In an effort to combat the effects of the more-intense summer heat, Emiritus Senior Living Communities at Beneva Park, Colonial Park and Sarasota have launched a community outreach program, called the Shade Brigade.

As part of the program, members deliver coolers full of water, popsicles, juice, fruit and safety tips for hot weather to area senior citzens. The program is part of Emeritus Senior Living’s “Safely Somewhere” program, and the company hopes to reach out to more than 5,000 seniors this summer.

If you know of a senior in need, please locate your nearest Emeritus community by
visiting emeritus.com, or email the individual’s name, contact information, city and state to [email protected].
