+ Pirates to hold football camp
Braden River High will hold its Pirate Youth Football Camp from 8 a.m. to noon July 22 through July 26.
The camp, which is open to all students in grades kindergarten through eight, will focus on the fundamentals of football through position techniques, speed and agility drills related to stance, tackling, footwork and blocking. In addition, players will learn the importance of discipline, commitment and teamwork.
The cost of the camp is $35 per day or $150 for all five days.

+ Golf-lesson bazaar on swing evaluations tees off at Rosedale
Steve Whidden, Rosedale Golf & Country Club PGA master professional and director of instruction, will begin offering a Get Better Sarasota Golf Lesson Bazaar July 27, at Rosedale.
The event, which is free, will feature 15-minute swing evaluations. The bazaar will tee off at 8 a.m. and will run until all students have received lessons.

+ Manatee Cal Ripken Baseball registration is under way
Registration for the Manatee Cal Ripken Baseball at Heritage Harbour fall season is now under way.
The league is open to all players ages 3 to 12. In-person registration will be held on the following dates at the Heritage Harbour Fields.
• 5 to 8 p.m. Aug. 2
• 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 3
• 5 to 8 p.m. Aug. 8
• 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 10
• Noon to 2 p.m. Aug. 11
This fall, the league also will offer Tee Ball, at a cost of $35, for children ages 3 to 4.
