Contractors will begin installing new lighting at seven crosswalks in Siesta Key Village Wednesday, July 31, according to an email forward from Sarasota County Administrator Randall Reid to commissioners.

Crews should complete installation of the 14 stone LED bollards by Aug. 29, and construction should not cause any major traffic disruption.

The county approved the $70,000 project — spearheaded by the Siesta Key Village Association — in May, to improve pedestrian safety in the Village.
