Mary GrandPré’s name isn’t as familiar as her work. Anyone familiar with the hard-bound Harry Potter book series knows of GrandPre — she illustrated all of the American editions.

Now, the Sarasota resident is illustrating the poster for the Bradenton Blues Festival for the second year in a row. Proceeds from the sale of the limited-edition poster will benefit “Blues in the Schools,” one of the festivals outreach programs.

GrandPré is a blues fan, and enjoys Keb’Mo’, Taj Mahal and Etta James.

“It’s a treat to be able to work together on a project that fuses our love of art and music — and also benefits our community and its youth,” says GrandPré.

She’ll work closely with Paula Murray of ArteFact Design on the poster, just like last year.

Only 200 signed, limited-edition copies of this year’s poster will be available for purchase for $50 beginning Oct. 15 at Keeton’s Office & Art Supply, 817 Manatee Ave. W., Bradenton.
